SUBJECT: MID-YEAR INTERVIEWS AND APPOINTMENTS FOR ADULT COMMISSIONER
VACANCIES ON BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES
RECOMMENDATION:
Conduct a mid-year interview and appointment process for the following: Bicycle and
Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC), Community and Senior Services Commission (CSSC),
Library Board (LIB), Parks Commission (Parks), Personnel Board (Personnel), and Transportation
and Parking Commission (T&P).
DISCUSSION:
The annual interview and appointment process for Adult Commissioners was held at the Town
Council meeting on November 7, 2017. At the conclusion of the interview and appointment
process, Council directed the Clerk Administrator to re-advertise the vacancies for CSSC, LIB,
Parks, Personnel, and T&P.
Due to the low number of applications received by the March 23rd deadline, the application
deadline for adult vacancies was extended to Wednesday, April 25, 2018, and the interview
date rescheduled to May 1, 2018.
A Commissioner on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission surrendered their office
according to the Commission Appointment Policy residency require ment which resulted in an
additional vacancy. The vacancy was included in the advertisement with the other vacancies.

DISCUSSION (Cont’d):
No applications were received for the Community and Senior Services Commission, which has
three (3) Adult Commissioner vacancies or for the Personnel Board, which has one (1) Adult
Commissioner vacancy.
The next scheduled recruitment for Adult Commissioners for Boards, Commissions, and
Committees is scheduled for September 2018 with interviews to be held on or before
December 18, 2018.
CONCLUSION:
It is recommended that Council appoint applicants to fill vacant Town Board, Commission, and
Committee positions.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
This is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required.
