ADMINISTRATOR FOR PPW JOB NO. 14-815-9930 RETAINING WALL REPAIRS -
JACKSON STREET PROJECT.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Town Manager to execute a Certificate of Acceptance and Notice of Completion
(Attachment 1) accepting the work of Graniterock Company and authorize recording by the Clerk
Administrator for PPW Job No. 14-815-9930 Retaining Wall Repairs -Jackson Street Project.
BACKGROUND:
The Town's adopted FY 2014/15-2018/19 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget designates
funding for infrastructure construction projects. The project was approved for design by the Council on
January 21, 2014. On June 16, 2015, the Town Council approved the plans and specifications for the
Retaining Wall Repairs -Jackson Street Project and authorized the Town Manager to award a
construction agreement in an amount not to exceed the available construction budget of $563,986,
including contingencies and any change orders, to the low bidder. The Town entered into an agreement
with Graniterock Company for this work for the low bid amount of $286,125.
DISCUSSION:
Graniterock Company has satisfactorily completed all of the work for this project and staff recommends
project acceptance.

DISCUSSION (cont'd):
Five percent of the faithful performance bond will remain in effect for a period of two years as guarantee
for any needed repair or replacement caused by defective materials and workmanship. The execution
and recordation of the Certificate of Acceptance is now required to finalize the Town's acceptance of the
project.
CONCLUSION:
Staff recommends that the Town Council authorize the Town Manager to execute a Certificate of
Acceptance and Notice of Completion accepting the work of Graniterock Company and authorize
recording by the Clerk Administrator for PPW Job No. 14-815-9930 Retaining Wall Repairs -Jackson
Street Project.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
This is a project as defined under CEQA but is Categorically Exempt (Section 15301d). A Notice of ' 1
Exemption was filed.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The final project cost was $303,096, of which $295,213 was direct construction costs, all within the
project budget, as demonstrated in the fiscal table below. The savings associated with this project will
remain in the ongoing Retaining Wall Repair project.
