Rev. 2 -7 -79 PWH <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1418 <br />ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ESTABLISHING <br />RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIPS ON PERMANENT <br />TOWN BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS. <br />THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Article V is added to Chapter 2 of the Los Gatos Town Code <br />to read: <br />ARTICLE V. BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS <br />Section 2 -50 Residence.Requirement <br />Residence in the Town is a requirement for membership <br />of all permanent Town boards and commissions. <br />Section 2 -51 Definition <br />Permanent Town boards and commissions are those bodies <br />which are established by ordinance and whose members are <br />appointed by the Town Council. <br />Section 2 -52 Failure to Meet Qualifications and Vacancies <br />If a member of a permanent Town board or commission <br />ceases to be a resident of the Town, his office then becomes <br />vacant. With respect to appointment and tenure of replacements <br />and in all other matters, the vacancy is treated like any other <br />on that board or commission. <br />Section 2 -53 Information Concerning Residence <br />It is the responsibility of each member of all Town boards <br />and commissions, including boards and commissions created by <br />resolution as well as boards and commissions created by ordinance, <br />to inform the Town of his residence address at the time of his <br />appointment and promptly inform the Town of all subsequent changes <br />of address. <br />Section 2 -54 Applicability <br />Persons who are members of permanent boards or commissions <br />on the effective date of this ordinance are, only for so long as <br />theirtenure (including reappointments) continues, exempt from the <br />terms of Section 2 -50. <br />-1- <br />
