ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR <br />PROPOSITION 1B LOCAL STREETS AND ROADS FUNDS FOR FY <br />2009/10 <br />B. UPON CONFIRMATION OF STATE APPROVAL, AUTHORIZE THE <br />APPROPRIATION OF FUNDING TO THE CURB, GUTTER, AND <br />SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT (411-813-9921) <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />1. Adopt a resolution authorizing application for Proposition 1B Local Streets and Roads Funds <br />for FY 2009/10. <br />2. Upon confirmation of State approval to appropriate Proposition 1B funds to the Curb, Gutter, <br />and Sidewalk Replacement Project (411-813-9921). <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In 2008, State Budget Act (AB 88) made $187 million in additional Proposition 1B funds <br />available to cities on a first-come, first serve basis for FY 2009/10. Each city is able to apply for <br />a portion of these funds based on population. <br />In order to be eligible to apply, it is required that a resolution be adopted and that the funds being <br />requested are part of an approved budget plan.
