Dear Los Gatos Town Council,
I am writing on behalf of the Los Gatos -Saratoga Union High School District
(LGSUHSD) to express continuing interest in the city -owned property at 4 New
York Ave. bordering Los Gatos High School. We’ve had a number of internal
discussions regarding the potential use of this property including the expansion
of the school gardens for our Agro -ecology classes (and potential summer
community garden use) as well as potentially renovating and repurposing the
V enue building for use for a wellness center/tutoring center/banquet site (one or
more of these purposes). In addition to our interest in using this property for
educational purposes, I also would like to express concern about the possibility of
this proper ty’s use by other agencies or groups given its location in the middle of
the LGHS campus as this could pose significant security, traffic, and parking
issues both during and outside of the school day.
We welcome further discussion and I am hopeful that we can arrive at an
outcome that is beneficial for all involved.
