Dear Ms. Chaffin,
I visited Santa Clara County Fire Department at 4200 Winchester Rd, Los Gatos and spoke with the
fire department official about possible development on Ditto Lane in Los Gatos.
The fire department said that more than 2 units would require street improvements to Ditto Lane.
The Teacher Housing proposal of 2 units with secondary dwelling units stays within the fire department 2-unit
maximum.
The fire department also said that the site would have to meet the Santa Clara County fire truck turnaround
requirements. I took a measurement of the existing driveway width, and the ‘flat’ portion of the site is
73’-0’ wide. The minimum turning radius for a fire truck is 36’-0” (72’-0” diameter) as per attached fire
department requirements. The proposed project meets the fire department turnaround
requirements.
