Dear Mayor Rennie and Town Councilmembers:
On behalf of Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence (NDS) and those we serve, I want to thank the
Community and Senior Services Commission, and staff, for recommending NDS for funding in the
amount of $3,000. Funding will support the availability and provision of on-going services for victims of
domestic violence and their children residing in the Town of Los Gatos. Services will be provided through
three core NDS programs: Shelter and Housing Services, Community & Systems Advocacy, and Support
Groups.
NDS conducts a weekly Support Group at St. Mary’s Church on Bean Street in Los Gatos. Town residents
may also attend any of the other 16 Support Groups held at NDS’ Community Office in San Jose or at
other county locations. Residents may also access other NDS services of:
• 24/7 Crisis Hotline and Shelter
• Walk-in crisis counseling, legal advocacy, assistance with restraining orders, and court
accompaniment
Last year, 32 Los Gatos residents participated in one or more of the above stated services.
While the recommendation of $3,000 is less than our original request ($6,000), we are honored to
continue to be considered for funding, as we understand the limitations of available funding. We have
been fortunate to have the support of the Town of Los Gatos in the past and hope that we will continue
to receive that support.
