A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STANDARD MILEAGE
REIMBURSEMENT FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, the elected members of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos are continually using their private automobiles for business
related to their official capacity as members of the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Town Council are eligible for a
reimbursement rate of $.24 per mile for official business purposes in
the use of their private automobiles; and
WHEREAS, because of the inconvenience of paperwork, and main-
taining individual automobile records, the members of the Town Council
have not submitted claims on a regular basis as would have been justified
because of mileage used; and
WHEREAS, the Town wishes to expedite the reimbursement proce-
dure;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos does hereby establish a monthly car allowance to be
provided to members of the Town Council at a rate of $50.00 per month
for payment in lieu of the $.24 per mile reimbursement rate for official
travel in the Bay Area; and that the Town Treasurer is requested to
process the payment of this car allowance on a monthly basis.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, California, at a regular meeting held this 15th
day of June , 1981, by the following vote:
