1984-196 - Setting A Retention Schedule For Certain Planning Department Records, Approving The Destruction Of Such Records Upon The Expiration Of Said RetentionRESOLUTION NO. 1984 -196 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS SETTING A RETENTION SCHEDULE FOR CERTAIN PLANNING DEPARTMENT RECORDS, APPROVING THE DESTRUCTION OF SUCH RECORDS UPON THE EXPIRATION OF SAID RETENTION WHEREAS, the Town Planning Director has requested that certain records maintained by the Planning Department be retained for a certain period of time, and then be disposed of or otherwise preserved, according to the retention schedules attached hereto under "Exhibit A," and incorporated herein by references and WHEREAS, the Town Attorney has approved in writing the retention schedule and has consented to the destruction dates hereinafter set forth, said approval attached hereto under "Exhibit A," and incorporated by reference; and WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the California Government Code provides that the head of a city department may destroy any city record, document, instrument, book or paper, etc., under his charge, without making a copy thereof, after the same is no longer required, if done with the approval of the city council by resolution and the written consent of the city attorney; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS: That, in accordance with Section 34090 of the California Government Code, this Council does hereby approve that records retention schedule, and authorizes the destruction of such records after their stated retention period, as set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto and incorporated in this Resolution by reference. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a reqular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 5th day of _ November , 1984 by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS Joanne Benjamin. Eric D. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 34090 of the California Government Code, I hereby consent to the destruction of those certain records listed above, "PLANNING DEPARTMENT RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE," after the prescribed retention period has expired.
