building “CITIES within CITIES”, and therein lies the problem, as
we will soon see. After speaking with many of our friends and neighbors here in Los
Gatos, it’s become very clear to me that the overwhelming majority of
the members of our community believe as I do when I say that:
WE CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS
PROJECTAS IT’S BEEN PROPOSED!
Let’s take a moment to look at some of the many internationally
recognized CITIES throughout the world, where the applicant has
built substantial developments, and then compare the populations of
these CITIES to the population of our TOWN of Los Gatos.
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND
Population: 466,000:
15 TIMES LARGER
The population of Liverpool, England is more than 15 times
larger than the population of the TOWN of Los Gatos.
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA

The sign makes it very clear to all who enter, that Los Gatos is
indeed a TOWN, and definitely not a CITY.
TOWN OF LOS GATOS' NORTH 40 VISION STATEMENT:
• The North 40 reflects the special nature of our hometown.
• It celebrates our history, agricultural heritage, hillside views, and
small Town character.
• The North 40 is seamlessly woven into the fabric of our community,
complementing other Los Gatos residential and business
neighborhoods.
• It is respectful of precious community resources and offers unique
attributes that enrich the quality of life of all of our residents.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES TO ACHIEVE THIS VISION:
• The North 40 will look and feel like Los Gatos.
• The North 40 will embrace hillside views, trees and open space.
• The North 40 will address the Town’s residential and/or commercial
unmet needs.
• The North 40 will minimize or mitigate impacts on town
infrastructure, schools, and other community services.
