RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT OF THE TOWN'S APPLICATION
FOR LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION BOND ACT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos identified the need for a new library and began
planning for it in 1983, and
WHEREAS, the voters of the State of California passed the Library Construction and
Renovation Bond Act in 1988, and
WHEREAS, the State has promulgated and adopted regulations which provide for
application for funds from this Bond Act, and
WHEREAS, one requirement for application is the certification of the Town's intent
to meet certain requirements, and
WHEREAS, the Town has applied for said Bond Act funds and wishes to make
minor budget modifications,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council authorizes
amendment of the Town's application for Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act
funds, and certifies its support for the application through the following:
1. The Town is committed to a project budget of $9,222,992 as contained in the
application on pages 39 and 40.
2. The Town is committed to provide its local share of 35% of the project
budget which is $3,142,472 as contained in the application on page 40.
3. The Town has funded or will fund in future capital improvement budgets,
supplemental funds in the amount of $244,500 to complete the project in a
timely manner.
4. The Town is committed to provide the necessary local matching and
supplemental funds in the amount of $3,386,972 to meet the project's cash
flow requirements.
5. The Town attests to the accuracy and truthfulness of all information contained
in the application form.
6. The Town is committed to operate the library facility when completed and
provide improved direct public library services.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos California held on the 3rd day of September, 1991 by the following vote:
