RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
REMANDING TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR MODIFICATIONS
AND FURTHER CONSIDERATION OF A REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF
PLANS TO DEMOLISH AN EXISTING SINGLE - FAMILY RESIDENCE AND
TO CONSTRUCT A NEW SINGLE - FAMILY RESIDENCE ON PROPERTY IN
THE R- 1:10,000 ZONE. ARCHITECTURE AND SITE APPLICATION S -91 -9.
(110 WHITNEY AVENUE /OWNERS: FAROOK AND MAHVASH AFSARI)
WHEREAS:
A. Farook Afsari, property owner and appellant, has requested approval of plans
to demolish an existing 1,200 square foot single - family residence and to construct a 3,253
square foot three -level single - family residence with a two car garage on a 10,800 square foot
parcel in the R- 1:10,000 zone. Property is located at 110 Whitney Avenue. Architecture
and Site Application S -91 -9; and
B. The Planning Commission first considered the matter on June 12, 1991 and
directed applicant to make changes to the plans; and
C. The Planning Commission considered the revised plans on August 14, 1991
and unanimously denied the proposed design because the residence was still inconsistent
with the established theme of the neighborhood and the changes did not meet the concerns
of the Planning Commission; and
D. A public hearing was held before the Town Council on October 7, 1991; and
E. A motion to grant the appeal resulted in a tie vote.
BE IT RESOLVED:
The Town Council hereby remands the application to allow the applicant time to
develop design alternatives to promote compatability with the neighborhood and to allow
further consideration by the Planning Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 21st day of October, 1991 by the following vote.
