RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
iORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING AND FIRST AGREEMENT AMENDMENT WITH
THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA FOR PARTICIPATION IN A
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that it is in the best
interest of the residents of Los Gatos to provide a safe and
convenient means of disposing of household hazardous waste; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that a joint collection
program for the residents of Santa Clara County to be more
economical than a collection program in each individual
jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara has developed a
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program whereby residents of
the County and participating jurisdictions will have an opportunity
to safely dispose of household hazardous waste on an appointment
or emergency basis regardless of the specific location at which an
event has been scheduled; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council wishes to participate in the
program to provide Town residents opportunities to safely dispose
of their household hazardous waste.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: that the Town Manager be
authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (Exhibit A) and
First Agreement Amendment (Exhibit B) with the County of Santa
Clara to participate in a Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Program.

Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 16th day
of December, 1991, by the following vote:
