RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AUTHORIZING THE
TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION AND
THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS REGARDING THE DISTRIBUTION OF GRANT FUNDS
UNDER THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION TREE PLANTING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, 15 U.S.C.A. Section 651 authorizes the Small Business Administration
(SBA) to make pass through grants to any State for the purpose of contracting with small
businesses to plant trees on land owned or controlled by State or local government; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) has
been awarded a grant from the SBA pursuant to 13 C.F.R. Section 125.12 to be utilized
during fiscal year October 1, 1991 through September 30, 1992; and
WHEREAS, 13 C.F.R. Section 143.37 authorizes the State to award and administer
subgrants to State and local agencies who are qualified to participate in the program; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos will enter into an agreement with the California
Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) to carry out the SBA Tree Planting
Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Los Gatos:
1. Certifies that funds under the jurisdiction of the Town of Los Gatos are
available to begin the project.
2. Certifies that the Town of Los Gatos has or will have sufficient funds to
operate and maintain the project.
3. Authorizes and directs the Town Manager to execute contract number 8CA
17117 between the Town of Los Gatos and the California Department of Forestry and Fire
Protection.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council held on the 6th day
of April, 1992 by the following vote:
