RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE
AGREEMENT WITH THE AMERICAN NATIONAL RED CROSS
FOR DISASTER RELIEF
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos, a California municipality organized and
operated under the Constitution and laws of the State of California wishes to amend its
agreement with the American National Red Cross (ANRC) for funds and continue to
participate with ANRC in rehabilitating residential structures damaged or destroyed in the
October 17, 1989, earthquake and subsequent aftershocks; and
WHEREAS, ANRC is authorized to make funds available for grants for the
purpose of completing housing rehabilitation or reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos wishes to continue to obtain from ANRC
funds for the purpose of providing grants for housing rehabilitation costs for eligible
homeowners under a local housing rehabilitation program and providing for an
administrative fee payable to the Local Agency for such services:
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos and ANRC executed an agreement for
provision of earthquake recovery housing rehabilitation funds on October 1, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos and ANRC executed an amendment to
the Agreement for the provision of earthgake recovery housing rehabilitation funds on
September 16, 1991;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS DOES HEREBY authorize the Town Manager to execute the amendment to the
agreement (Exhibit A) for provision of earthquake recovery housing rehabilitation funds
effective October 1, 1992, through December 31, 1992.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 20th day of July, 1992, by the following vote:

This Second Amendment ( "Amendment ") to the Agreement For Human Services Project
( "Agreement ") is entered into as of the Zoth day of JU Y , 1992 by and between
THE AMERICAN NATIONAL RED CROSS ( "ARC" , a nonpro it corporation chartered
by the Act of Congress, and The Town of Los Gatos
("Grantee"), a municipal corporation in the SkdLr. of i orma.
RECITALS
WHEREAS, ARC and Grantee entered into that certain Agreement as of the Ist
day of October , 1990 , and entered into a First Amendment to
Agreement as of t e 26t ay of _ August , 199 1 ; and
WHEREAS, under Article I the Agreement, ARC agrees to make available to
Grantee certain amounts from the ARC's Special Disasfer Relief Fund ( "SDRF") and
Grantee agrees to use the SDRF funds to achieve certain tasks and goals within he stated
project budget and terms and conditions of he Agreement; and
WHEREAS, ARC and Grantee mutually desire to amend the term of the Agreement
as provided in this Second Amendment;

agree to this Amendment and therefore amend the Agreement as follows:
ARTICLE I
SECTION 1.01 TERM OF AGREEMENT. The term of he Agreement shall be
amended and the new term shall be from October 1. 1 90 through
December 31, 1992 --
ARTICLE II
All other provisions of the Agreement not expressly altered by this Amendment shall
remain unchanged and are in full force and effect.
