RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER AS
"SCHOOL'S OPEN - DRIVE CAREFULLY" MONTH
WHEREAS, once again, it is that time of year when millions of children and young
adults from throughout California will be returning to their studies at grade schools and
high schools in our state; and
WHEREAS, on streets and roads in every community in the Golden State -- in ever
increasing numbers -- these students will be walking, riding bikes and traveling in buses
from home to school and back again; and
WHEREAS, that is why it is important that all citizens take extra precaution to drive
carefully and observe proper rules of the road during this time of year when so many more
children are out and about, especially around schools, around school buses and in areas
which children and young adults often use to go to and from school; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I, Eric D. Carlson, by the virtue of the
authority vested in me as Mayor of the Town of Los Gatos, am pleased to join in
supporting the California State Automobile Association by proclaiming September, 1992 as:
"SCHOOL'S OPEN - DRIVE CAREFULLY" MONTH
in the Town of Los Gatos and urge all motorists to keep a watchful eye out for children
and young adults who will be returning to school during this time of year.

Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 17th day of August, 1992 by the following vote:
