A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ERIC D. CARLSON
FOR HIS SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE
TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
WHEREAS, Eric was appointed to the Town Council on October 17, 1983 and
served two elected terms until December 7, 1992; and
WHEREAS, Eric served as a member of the Planning Commission from August 3,
1981 to his appointment to the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, Eric served as a member of the Town Advisory Committee during the
development of the Downtown Specific Plan and General Plan from May 4, 1981 to his
appointment as a member of the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Eric has devoted countless hours of personal dedication to ensure that
the Town's government has delivered responsive, quality services to the community; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure Eric assisted the Town in the following major studies
and projects:
a. Route 85 Committee and negotiations leading to the Route 85 freeway
agreements
b. General Plan Committee
C. Finance Committee
d. Town computerization program
e. Adoption of the Downtown Specific Plan
f. Adoption of the General Plan
g. Development of the earthquake recovery program
h. Commercial Specific Plan Committee
i. Secondary Unit Program
j. Downtown Parking Program
k. Open Doors Housing Program
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Los Gatos Town Council does
commend and thank Eric Carlson for the planning perspective and knowledge he brought
to the Council and for his ever- practical techniques of being short and to the point and
getting to the heart of whatever matter the Council was considering.
Despite enormous business and time pressures, Eric gave our Town and its citizens
selfless years of his brand of perceptive intelligence and pragmatic problem solving for
which we will always be grateful.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos at a
regular meeting held this 16th day of November, 1992, by the following vote:
