A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH MCHUGH LINCOLN - MERCURY, INC.
OF LOS GATOS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE UNMARKED
POLICE VEHICLE AND THE PURCHASE OF AN ADDITIONAL THREE
YEAR OR 72,000 MILE WARRANTY FOR THE VEHICLE, AND
AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS NECESSARY FOR THIS PURCHASE
WHEREAS, one unmarked police vehicle, #406036, a 1985 Ford with 78,000 miles,
was originally scheduled for replacement in fiscal year 1991/92; and
WHEREAS, staff evaluated the maintenance records, mileage, and overall condition
of the vehicle and extended its replacement two years; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle has been examined by the Town Service Center and their
recommendation and staff's recommendation is to replace the vehicle at this time; and
WHEREAS, staff has closely reviewed the bids submitted and recommends the bid
be awarded to McHugh Lincoln /Mercury; and
WHEREAS, there is $13,550 in the equipment replacement fund for this vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the transfer of $1518.13 from Maintenance Account 4040 -70010 to
Capital Purchase Account 4040 -77001 will provide the funds necessary for this purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos that the Town Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with McHugh Lincoln -
Mercury, Inc. of Los Gatos for the purchase of one unmarked Police vehicle and the
purchase of an additional three year or 72,000 mile warranty for the vehicle, and authorize
the transfer of funds necessary for this purchase.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 2nd day of August, 1993, by the following vote:
