RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FOURTH
AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH
THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA FOR
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that it is in the best interest of the
residents of Los Gatos to provide a safe and convenient means of disposing of household
hazardous waste; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that a joint collection program for the
residents of Santa Clara County to be more economical than a collection program in each
individual jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara has developed a Household Hazardous
Waste Collection Program whereby residents of the County and participating jurisdictions
will have an opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste on an appointment
or emergency basis regardless of the specific location at which an event has been scheduled;
and
WHEREAS, the Town Council wishes to continue participating in the program
to provide Town residents opportunities to safely dispose of their household hazardous
waste.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS HOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: the Town Manager be authorized
to execute a Fourth Amendment to the Agreement (Exhibit A) with the County of Santa
Clara for Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program services.

Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 20th day of September, 1993, by the following

FOURTH AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT 1__� ply

This is the fourth amendment to that certain agreement between theXQR)kX0A
Town of Los Gatos (City) and County of Santa Clara (County) entitled
AGENCY AGREEMENT FOR COUNTYWIDE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
COLLECTION PROGRAM, entered into on July 30, 1991 as previously amended on
December 17, 1991, June 23, 1992 and September 1, 1992.
The parties agree that:
1. Add new Section 8a, INCREASE IN CITY FUNDING COMMITMENT:
Since FY 92 -93 participation by City residents was greater than anticipated,
the initial maximum commitment of $ 40,000 was
exceeded. Therefore, City agrees to increase FY 92 -93 maximum
commitment by $ 15.575 to pay the County for costs incurred to
serve 133 additional households.
2. Except as stated herein, all the terms and conditions of the Agreement and
all preceding amendments shall remain in full force and effect.
