RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
OPPOSING SANTA CLARA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AGENCY
BUS SHELTER CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
UTILIZING ADVERTISING PANELS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 29.10.115(12) of the Los Gatos Town Code,
off- premise commercial advertising signs are prohibited;
WHEREAS, the Town's Sign Ordinance is structured to maintain a high quality of
aesthetics;
WHEREAS, if the Town were to allow transit shelter advertising, it might be
obligated to allow other businesses in Town to have off - premise signs thereby upsetting one
of the basic principles of the Town's Sign Ordinance to maintain a high quality of
aesthetics;
RESOLVED: The Town Council supports the Town's Sign Ordinance prohibiting
off - premise advertising signs including commercial advertising on transit shelters and
benches.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council held on the 1st
day of November, 1993, by the following vote:
