RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
TO AUTHORIZE TOWN MANAGER TO ADOPT RESOLUTION TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH TRACTOR EQUIPMENT SALES
FOR REPAIRS TO BACKHOE
WHEREAS, the loader backhoe was purchased new in 1987, and is in need of repair
to the backhoe section.
WHEREAS, examination of pins, bushings and seals to the backhoe segment show
sign of wear and metal fatigue.
WHEREAS, vehicle maintenance personal are not equipped to perform repairs
because of specialty machinery used to press pins, and bushings into place.
WHEREAS, Section 2.50.130 of the Town Code provides that purchases which do not
exceed twenty -five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) may be made by purchasing agent after an
informal investigation of the sources of supply for the purposes of ascertaining the lowest
price for which the commodities desired can be acquired and appropriate cost accounting
principles are employed.
WHEREAS, quotations for repairs were sought and received by Case Power and
Equipment and Tractor Equipment Sales.
WHEREAS, Tractor Equipment sales charge for parts and labor is $849.00 less than
competitors.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
to authorize Town Manager to Execute an agreement with Tractor Equipment Sales for
repairs to backhoe.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos, California, held on the 18th day of July, 1994 by the following vote.
