RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
TO AUTHORIZE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT WITH
CARDINAL AUTOMOTIVE FOR PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF
NATURAL GAS CONVERSION HITS
WHEREAS, in September 1994 the Town of Los Gatos was approved for
$261,900.00 from Transportation Funds for Clean Air (AB434) for the demonstration of
natural gas vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the grant stipulates converting two Transit Assist vans, and the purchase
and conversion of twelve new Police Patrol vehicles; and
WHEREAS, on January 1995 Council adopted Resolution authorizing Town
Manager to execute agreement with the State of California Department of General Services,
for purchase of twelve new 1995 model CHP class "E" special service vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Town advertised and received three competitive bids for purchase and
installation of natural gas conversion kits for Police Patrol and Transit Assist vehicles; and
WHEREAS, low bidder Cardinal Automotive took no exceptions to specifications;
and
WHEREAS, Pacific Gas & Electric Company has established March 31, 1995 as the
cut off period for Governmental agencies to submit paid invoices to ascertain rebates under
the 1994 Air Transportation Program; and
WHEREAS, a purchase order detailing all equipment needed to convert vehicles
must be sent to contractor no later than March 9, 1995 to insure PG &E rebates.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos,
County of Santa Clara, State of California, that the Town Manager is authorized to execute
the attached agreement with Cardinal Automotive for purchase and installation of natural
gas conversion kits.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos, California, held on the 6th day of March , 1995 by the following vote:
