RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ACCEPTING $6,000.00 GRANT FROM THE LOS GATOS REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
TO REPAIR / REPLACE LANDSCAPING AND IRRIGATION ON LOS GATOS-
SARATOGA ROAD AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER
TO EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE LOS GATOS AGENCY FOR THE
LANDSCAPING AND IRRIGATION
WHEREAS, the existing medians constitute blight as identified in the Redevelopment Plan
for the Central Los Gatos Redevelopment Project of the Town of Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, Town funds are insufficient to replace and repair the irrigation and
landscaping on the Los Gatos - Saratoga Road medians; and
WHEREAS, an opportunity exists to create a better defined gateway to the downtown
Redevelopment area by improving the medians.
RESOLVED: by the Los Gatos Town Council that the Town enter into an agreement with
the Los Gatos Redevelopment Agency (attached hereto as Exhibit A) for the Landscaping and
Irrigation Grant and does hereby accept the $6,000.00 grant from the Redevelopment Agency to
repair /replace landscaping and irrigation on Los Gatos - Saratoga Road.
RESOLVED: that the Town Manager is authorized, and is hereby directed, to execute the
agreement for the Landscaping and Irrigation Grant.

Gatos, California, held on the 18th day of March, 1996, by the following vote:

LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN-
THE LOS GATOS REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND
THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
THIS AGREEMENT is entered into this 18th day of March, 1996, by and between the
Los Gatos Redevelopment Agency, a municipal corporation, herein called the "Agency," and the
Town of Los Gatos, State of California, herein called the "Town."
A. The existing landscaped medians on Los Gatos - Saratoga Road are in various states of
disrepair, were damaged by frost and need to be repaired/ replanted; and
B. The existing medians constitute blight as identified in the Redevelopment Plan for the central
Los Gatos Redevelopment Project of the Town of Los Gatos; and
C. The Five -Year Implementation Plan for the Central Los Gatos Redevelopment Project
includes streetscape improvements (including landscaping) for 1995 -96; and
D. Town funds are insufficient to replace and repair the irrigation and landscaping on the Los
Gatos - Saratoga Road medians; and
E. An opportunity exists to create a better defined gateway to the downtown area by improving
the medians.
AGREEMENTS
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES HERETO AGREE AS FOLLOWS:
Grant Amount:
The grant to the Town of Los Gatos shall not exceed $6,000.00.
2. Costs:
The total cost of the landscaping and irrigation project is $6,000.00.
Grant Terms:
a. Improvements shall be made within the Central Los Gatos Redevelopment Project
Area.
b. The Grant funds shall not be used to pay for maintenance.
C. The Grant funds shall not be used to pay for annuals.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Los Gatos Redevelopment Agency and the Town of Los
Gatos executed this Agreement as of the date indicated on page one (1).
