RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN DESIGNATION FROM
AGRICULTURAL TO HILLSIDE RESIDENTIAL, 0 -1 DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE
FOR A PROPERTY AT 14734 BLOSSOM HILL ROAD
WHEREAS, SummerHill Homes and the University of California Regents, the
property owners of parcels at 14734 Blossom Hill Road (Santa Clara County Assessor's Parcel
Numbers 527 -17 -004, 527 -19 -003, 537 -27 -005 & 006, 527 -20 -001, 527 -19 -003 through 007) and
shown on the attached Exhibit A, have requested in conjunction with a proposed rezoning
application, that the Town of Los Gatos amend the General Plan to change the land use
designation for this property from Agriculture to Hillside Residential, 0 -1 Dwelling Units Per
Acre.
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that the proposed General Plan
amendment is consistent with the existing goals and policies of the General Plan and its
corresponding elements.
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that the proposed General Plan
amendment is consistent with the existing goals and policies of the Hillside Specific Plan.
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that the proposed General Plan
amendment will not cause any inconsistencies between the General Plan and the Zoning
Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the proposed General Plan amendment has been submitted in
conjunction with a proposed rezoning request to change the zoning designation of the property
from RC (Resource Conservation) to HR- 1:PD(Planned Development- Hillside Residential, I Acre
Minimum) to allow for the construction of 43 detached single family houses, reconstruction and
remodeling of a historic house (The Heintz Residence), demolition of a garage laboratory (Heintz
lab), demolition of a pre -1941 residence (Ayala House), dedication of open space and trail
easements, and construction of associated public and private site improvements.
RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa
Clara, State of California, that the Town of Los Gatos amend the General Plan to change the land
use designation for this property as shown on Exhibit A from Agriculture to Hillside Residential,
0 -1 Dwelling Units Per Acre.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 6th day of July, 1998 by the following vote:
