RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
DECLARING ELECTION RESULTS
OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF
NOVEMBER 3, 1998
WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held in the Town of Los Gatos on
Tuesday, the 3rd day of November, 1998, and was conducted in form and manner as
required by the law of the State of California governing the elections of General Law
Cities and,
WHEREAS, Dwight M. Beattie, Registrar of Voters of Santa Clara County has
declared that at the Statewide General Election held on November 3, 1998, and
consolidated therewith, a General Municipal Election was held in the TOWN OF LOS
GATOS for the purpose of electing three (3) Council Members and,
WHEREAS, the results of said Elections were canvassed by the Office of the
Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters in accordance with applicable provisions of the
California Elections Code and,
WHEREAS, the Statement of Votes Cast, attached to the Certification (Exhibit
A), shows the whole number of votes cast for each candidate in said Town and in each
of the respective precincts and,
WHEREAS, the total number of registered voters was 18,337 and the total
number of votes cast was 11,700 including absentee ballots for
THREE (3) COUNCIL MEMBERS
That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted, and the
number of votes received by each of said persons in each of said precincts, together with
the absentee votes, together with the whole number of votes which they received in the
entire Town of Los Gatos are as continued in Exhibit B.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Marian V. Cosgrove, duly elected
Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos hereby certify the election of:
RANDY ATTAWAY, COUNCIL MEMBER
STEVEN BLANTON, COUNCIL MEMBER
JOE PIRZYNSKI, COUNCIL MEMBER
for the full term of four years expiring November, 2002;
RESOLVE FURTHER, that the Clerk shall enter upon the records of this Council
the results of said General Municipal Election and shall deliver to each person elected a
Certificate of Election duly signed and authenticated by her and she shall impose the
Constitutional Oath and have them subscribe thereon, whereupon, they shall be inducted
to the respective offices to which they have been elected.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 7th day of December, 1998 by the following vote:
COUNCIL MEMBERS:
AYES: Randy Attaway, Joanne Benjamin, Steven Blanton, Linda Lubeck and
Mayor Jan Hutchins.
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

I, Dwight M. Beattie, Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara, State of
California, hereby declare that a General Election was held in the Town of Los Gatos and
consolidated with the Statewide Gubernatorial General Election on November 3, 1998 for
the purpose of electing members to the Town Council of said City; and to wit:
That the official canvass of the returns of said election was conducted by the office
of the Registrar of Voters in accordance with the appropriate provisions of the Elections
Code of the State of California; and
That the Statement of Votes Cast, hereto attached, shows the whole number of
votes cast for each candidate in the City and in each of the respective precincts; and that
the totals shown for each candidate are true and correct.
