Moseley Associate Planner Town of Los Gatos Email: mmosely@losgatosca.gov Re: Architectural and Site Application 5 -14 -027 Dear Ms. Moseley, On Sunday evening my wife and I met with our neighbors Brad and Dana Krouskup to review the new development at 15925 Quail Hill Road. We were surprised to learn that it has been represented by the Applicant and their architect that we support the project. We have not been approached by the Applicant or their architect, nor have they provided us with any information. We have limited information regarding the project, but based on what we know we have some concerns about the project. We would request the Town Council to either continue the project, or grant the appeal and return the project to the Planning Commission for further review. Very Truly Yours, Arvin Khoravi Cc: brad(cDtoeniskoetter.com ATrACRKENT 1 a This Page Intentionally Left Blank Outreach we did with the neighbors regarding our project at 15925 Quail hill rd: 15921 Quail Hill Rd: (Brad and Dana Krouskup, next to our house) On 6/16/2013, we talked with them regarding our intention to buy the property and build a second story addition, they told me that might not be possible since it might be in line of sight. We checked with city planning(Suzanne Avila) and did our own study, and determined it will most likely not in line of sight to prevent us from building second story, so we proceed and purchased the property in July 2013. On 7/20/2014, after talking with planning department(Joel) changing from one story design to two story design, we met with Brad and Dana to show them our new two story design that we are ready to submit, because our original one story design will not work due to new findings regarding sewer line easement. We showed them the plans and elevations we were going to resubmit to the city, they said they would have problem with the two story. After that meeting, we decided hire our current Architect Michael Vierhus to redesign our house so we don't have to go to planning commission and make everyone happy. On 5/1/2015, after story pole went up for the redesigned house, we met with Brad and Dana again, because they showed concern with the new design. At the meeting, we offered to make some modifications such as taking off some gables, lower some roofline height, so they can have more view, and not have huge impact on our design at the same time, but I guess we cannot work out our differences, and that is why we are here now. 100 Drysdale(the house behind us, Bernie and Marcia Coullahan) On 4/26/2015, after story pole went up, our archietect Michael met with the neighbors directly behind us on 100 drysdale because they had slight concerns with roofline height. At the meeting, we offered to lower the roofline affecting them slightly, and they are happy with that modification, and supported the project. 15941 Quail Hill Rd( the house directly below us, recently finished a huge first and second story addition, Arvin Khoravi and Firouzeh Mozafar ) After our story pole went up in April, I have visited 15941 Quail Hill rd two times, because they were finishing up their house addition and I wanted to say hi and see if they have concerns. When I dropped ATTACHMENT 12 by both time, I met with Firouzeh(wife), chatted with her regarding her remodel experience and have told her that our neighbor at 15921 quail hill rd is objecting to our project and is going to planning commission when she asked about my project. She said she was sorry that I had to go through all this, and her designer even gave me her business card and offered to help. That is why I assumed they saw the story pole and went through the plan at the city and are supporting the project, since both time I was there, when I mentioned about our project progress, she never said she had any concerns. Sincerely, Kevin Hwang and Sabrina Dong 11/2/2015
