Subject: Support for the Baseball backstop at Baggerly Field - Blossom Hill Park
Dear Council members,
My name is Bryan McCollam and have been a resident of Los Gatos for nearly 50 years. I have coached
my two sons through the Los Gatos Little League system and I am still involved on the board of
directors. I would like to give my strong support on this proposal as I believe it would provide a much
needed upgrade and increased safety measure to an outdated structure.
Thank you for your consideration.

Subject: Baseball backstop at Baggerly Field -- Blossom Hill Park
Dear Town Council,
I am a past 8 year board member of Los Gatos Little League as well as a past
6 year board member of Los Gatos - Saratoga Softball and past president of Los Gatos Pony baseball. I
served on the board with Phil Knopf, who is leading this effort, and continue to be amazed at his
dedication to youth baseball in our Town.
I also live next to Blossom Hill Park and walk my dog past the baseball field nearly every day. LGLL has
done a phenomenal job since I left the board in maintaining the facility there and creating a fantastic
community environment. But it is clear that the backstop is due for replacement.
We had a similar issue with the Pony field at Fisher Middle School when I was president and we raised
the funds to split with the school district the cost of the backstop and fencing work there.
I understand from Phil that the Town Manager, Parks and even the Council is supportive of replacing the
backstop, but funding is tied up while the entire budget is considered. As I'm sure you are aware, there
is a limited period of time for LGLL to replace the backstop before the field will be needed for the
season.
Therefore, if there is any possibility to unlock funding ASAP, I think it would be a beneficial action for the
town.
Thanks for your attention to this.
Regards,
Scott Maples
