REMARKS:
After the initial Staff Report was distributed on June 11, 2015, Staff received inquiries from
Council which are addressed below.
Also provided in Attachment 2 is public communication which was received after the Staff
Report was distributed.
1. Item 8: Police Foundation Donation: Thank you for explaining that these monies
have already been spent. If TC wants to change this practice going forward, where
can that be done in the proposed budget? I see, e.g., "Other Revenue" on p. D -114
of the proposed budget - is it contained there?
Answer:
Yes, Council could provide direction to Staff to change the current practice. Based upon
the direction, there may be changes required to the Town's donation policy.
Such direction may not necessitate a change in the proposed budget "other revenue "
amount as this is merely an estimate of revenues expected to be received during the year
same as with all other revenue sources. Should the Council wish to not accept Police
Foundation donations, this revenue estimate would be adjusted during the mid year
budget status report.
