During the rehabilitation process of the 130 Massol Avenue house and especially
after it was completed, we were asked on many occasions "what was that
monstrous fine all about?"
In order to avoid lengthy discussions, we prepared a shorter version of the
attached summary and let the persons who asked get the answers at their
leisure.
After Mr. Silva, our neighbor, read the brief summary, he felt that the Town
should conduct a thorough review of the involved rules and ordinances covering
a rebuilding effort.
Mr. Silva invited me to accompany him to a meeting with the Town Manager. It
was decided to have the Historical Committee first review the request and issue
an opinion.
In the meantime, I added more specifics and details to the summary and
appealed to the Town Council to review the "Chronology of Events" and overturn
the building departments application of all fines as well as writing more sensible
rules.
Mr. Silva and I are looking forward to the meeting.
