I am reaching out to you now in case you have any questions about this request. We purchased 16348 Aztec Ridge Drive earlier this year, planning to make it home for us and our two young children for the long term. We hope to move in sometime in the Spring after completion of some interior work. Our children are already attending Los Gatos schools. I am an executive at LinkedIn in Mountain View, and my wife is President of a philanthropic, non -profit foundation focusing on childhood education and hunger issues. When we were initially looking at 16348 Aztec Ridge Dr, we had some concerns. We found out during disclosures that the dead end driveway through the middle of our property was legally a public road. Even though there had been a permitted gate near the entry to our property since 1983, prior owners had been involved in a long running dispute with a neighbor about use of the road/driveway. We were concerned about our children's safety if our driveway ever became a public road, and of course we did not want to be involved in a dispute with our new neighbors. We are pleased to say that after discussions, we have been able to resolve the dispute with our neighbors, the Scrantons, and they agreed to support the street vacation. We then applied to the Town to complete the street vacation process, and that is what will be before you next Tuesday. Town staff has been very helpful in our discussions with our neighbors, and overall in getting us to this point for a final resolution. We have reached out to all our adjacent neighbors and have no indication that any of them opposes this action. Many just assumed that the segment of street we are requesting to be abandoned is what it appears to be: a private driveway. If you have any questions or concerns about this proposed street vacation, I would welcome a chance to speak with you in advance of the hearing. Please give me a call at 408 - 807 -9494, or send me an e -mail at kevin.scott(o)pmail.com In any event, my attorney and I will be at the hearing Tuesday in case this matter is taken off the consent calendar. Thanks for your consideration. Best, -Kevin & Shannon Scott ATTACHMENT3 THIS PAGE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK
