SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES
RECOMMENDATION:
Conduct appointment process for Arts and Culture Commission, Community and Senior
Services Commission, General Plan Committee, Historic Preservation Committee, Library
Board, Parks Commission, Personnel Board, Planning Commission, and Transportation and
Parking Commission.
2. Direct Clerk Administrator to continue to advertise any unfilled positions
DISCUSSION:
On December 16, 2014, prior to the Town Council Meeting, Council interviewed applicants for
vacant board, commission, and committee positions (Attachment 1).
Upon completion of the appointment process, Council may direct the Clerk Administrator to re-
advertise any vacant board, commission, and/or committee positions.
The next scheduled recruitment for these boards, commissions, and committees is set for August
2015 with interviews to be held December 15, 2015. If the Clerk Department receives enough
applications prior to August 2015, Council may choose to schedule an additional interview date
prior to the August 2015 recruitment.
Recruitment for student commissioners for the Youth Commission, Community and Senior
Services Commission, Library Board, and Parks Commission is set for March 2015 with interviews
and appointments to be held in June 2015.

CONCLUSION:
It is recommended that Council appoint applicants to fill vacant Town commission positions and
direct the Clerk Administrator to continue to advertise any unfilled positions.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
Is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action.
