SUBJECT: TOWN COUNCIL POLICY COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the appointment of Mayor Marcia Jensen and Vice Mayor Barbara Spector to the Council
Policy Committee.
BACKGROUND:
The Council has two ongoing standing committees: the Policy Committee and the Finance Committee.
The appointments to these committees have historically been nominated by the Mayor and approved by
the Council at the second meeting of December, along with other Council appointments. Vice Mayor
Barbara Spector and Council Member Diane McNutt currently serve on the Policy Committee.
DISCUSSION:
With Council Member McNutt's end of term as of this meeting, there will be a vacancy on the Policy
Committee. Further, staff is requesting to schedule several meetings of the Policy Committee in
December to launch a comprehensive review and updating of Town policies. Consequently, the Mayor
has nominated herself and Vice Mayor Spector to the Policy Committee in advance of the remaining
appointments to be considered on December 16. If approved, these appointments will also be included
in the comprehensive listing of Council appointments presented on December 16, 2014.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
This action is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further environmental review is required.
