MINUTES OF THE TOWN COUNCIL/PARKING AUTHORITY MEETING
NOVEMBER 18, 2014
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Regular Meeting on Tuesday,
November 14, 2014, at 7:00 p.m.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Steven Leonardis, Vice Mayor Marcia Jensen, Council Member Joe
Pirzynski, Council Member Diane McNutt, Council Member Barbara Spector.
Absent: None
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Natalia Korpela led the Pledge of Allegiance. The audience was invited to participate.
PRESENTATIONS
Mayor Steve Leonardis presented the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in
Financial Reporting (CAFR) (Fiscal Year Ending: June 30, 2013) award to the Town of
Los Gatos. Steve Conway, Director of Finance, accepted the award on behalf of the
Town.
Mayor Steve Leonardis presented Dance Attack with the Small Business, Big Applause
commendation. Mia Kronik, student, performed a short dance.
COUNCIL /TOWN MANAGER REPORTS
Council Matters
- Council Member Joe Pirzynski attended the Valley Transportation Authority Board
of Directors, Cities Association, and Metropolitan Transportation Agency meetings.
- Council Member Barbara Spector stated she and Council Member Diane McNutt
attended the Council Policy Committee meeting.
- Mayor Steven Leonardis attended the West Valley Solid Waste Management
Authority and West Valley Sanitation Board of Directors meetings.
Manager Matters
- Announced Board and Commission recruitment is ongoing, and descriptions and
applications are available on the Town website. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m.
December 5. Interviews and appointments will occur on December 16.

- Presented information on holiday shopping and dining in Los Gatos.
CONSENT ITEMS (TO BE ACTED UPON BY A SINGLE MOTION)
1. Approve Council Minutes of November 4, 2014
2. Adopt a resolution setting the date for consideration of reorganization of an
uninhabited area designated as Kennedy Road No. 17, approximately 0.51 acres
located at 16785 Kennedy Road. APN 532 -08 -041. File #AN14 -004.
3. Hazardous Vegetation Abatement (Weeds)
a. Adopt resolution declaring weeds a public nuisance and providing for their abatement
b. Set January 20, 2015 as a public hearing date on this annual program
MOTION: Motion by Vice Mayor Marcia Jensen to approve Consent Items
#1 through 3. Seconded by Council Member Barbara Spector.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously.
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
Anne Robinson
Commented on the letter to the editor in the Los Gatos Weekly on November 21
regarding the use of the North 40 property and highlighted a Stanford longevity
study.
John Shepardson
- Recognized the group of volunteers that meet every Friday at the Adult Recreation
Center (ARC) to provide food for the community. Suggested a section be placed on
the Town website that offers a place for volunteer opportunities for those to offer
their services and for those who seek those services. Commented on the cost of the
Police Department.
OTHER BUSINESS
- There was no other business.
APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR AND VICE MAYOR
MOTION: Motion by Mayor Steve Leonardis to appoint Vice Mayor Marcia
Jensen as Mayor of the Town of Los Gatos. Seconded by Council
Member Barbara Spector.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously.
Mayor -Elect Marcia Jensen provided comments on her appointment and year as Mayor.

Appointment of Mayor and Vice Mayor — continued
MOTION: Motion by Mayor -Elect Marcia Jensen to appoint Barbara Spector
as Vice Mayor of the Town of Los Gatos. Seconded by Mayor
Steve Leonardis.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously.
Vice Mayor -Elect Barbara Spector provided comments on her appointment and year as
Vice Mayor.
Mayor Steve Leonardis commented on his year as Mayor and presented a video
celebrating the Los Gatos community.
Mayor Marcia Jensen presented outgoing Mayor Steve Leonardis with a plaque
commemorating his year as Mayor.
Judge Richard Seeborg provided comments and led the oath of office for Mayor Marcia
Jensen and Vice Mayor Barbara Spector.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. to Democracy in Action reception.
