1975-052-Approving Agreement Regarding CCCJ Project Entitled "Hazardous Situation Driving Course"RESOLUTION NO. 1975 -52 RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT REGARDING CCCJ PROJECT ENTITLED "HAZARDOUS SITUATION DRIVING COURSE" WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos desires to undertake a certain project designated "Hazardous Situation Driving Course" and act as the local unit of Government sponsor for San Jose City College to manage said project to be funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL 90 -355, as amended, PL 91 -644, (hereafter referred to as the Safe Streets Act) administered by the California Council on Criminal Justice (hereafter referred to as CCCJ). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the Town of Los Gatos was authorized on its behalf to submit the attached loan application for Law Enforcement purposes to CCCJ, and is authorized to execute on behalf of the Town of Los Gatos the attached grant award for Law Enforcement purposes including any extensions or amendments thereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant as the local Government sponsor agrees to ensure that all matching funds required for said project will be provided by San Jose City College, the project manager, under a separate subcontract agreement attached hereto and incorporated into this grant application, and this condition applies to any extensions -1- or amendments thereof under the Safe Streets Act and rules and regulations of CCCJ and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration and that the cash would be appropriated as required thereby. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sponsorship of this grant does not carry with it the inference that, at the conclusion of the grant, the Town of Los Gatos shall continue to support this project beyond the limits of federal grant funding, but is intended only to be a facilitator of this grant for the Law Enforcement Committee of Santa Clara County in order to comply with the local unit of Government grant sponsorship guidelines. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant on -going law enforcement expenditures.
