A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS EXPRESSING THE TOWN'S
SUPPORT FOR THE CITIZEN EFFORT TO COMPLETE
THE PROPOSED EAST -WEST TRANSPORTATION
CORRIDOR ("ROUTE 85 ").
WHEREAS, the impact of traffic congestion on the West Valley
region of Santa Clara County is of great concern to the residents
therein; and
WHEREAS, such problems as pollution, energy scarcity and land
use pressures compel an effective and long term solution to this
increasingly significant problem of traffic congestion; and
WHEREAS, recently an ad -hoc citizens' committee was formed in
an attempt to develop additional support for the construction of
the segment of ".Route 85" from Highway 280 in Cupertino to the
Monterey Road in San Jose; and
WHEREAS the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos wishes to
express its support and endorsement of the citizen effort to
encourage the completion of the East- West Multi -Modal Transportation
Corridor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos hereby affirms its support for the efforts of the
West Valley Multi -Modal Transportation Corridor Task Force to
effectuate the completion of Route 85.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
at a requl_ar___ meeting held this '18th day of September 1978,
by the following vote:
