COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
OCTOBER 10, 2014
MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL
GREG LARSON, TOWN MANAGER
MEETING DATE: 10/21/14
ITEM NO: oZ
SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIRST
AMENDMENT TO THE CONSULTANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS AND URS CORPORATION FOR AN ADDITIONAL
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 AND EXTEND THE AGREEMENT
THROUGH JUNE 30, 2016
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Town Manager to execute a First Amendment to the Consultant Agreement with
URS Corporation for an additional amount not to exceed $25,000 and extend the agreement
through June 30, 2016.
BACKGROUND:
On January 27, 2014, an Agreement for Consultant Services was executed between the Town of
Los Gatos and URS Corporation to assist staff with the review of environmental, architectural,
geological, traffic, storm water permit, building plan check, and arborist issues related to private
development projects. The original agreement amount of $40,000 has been expended.
DISCUSSION:
The original Agreement for Consultant Services was executed under the Town Manager's
authority. The services provided by URS allow staff to better manage workflow, utilizing
contract services when periods of peak workloads risk delaying both Town and private projects.
Staff would like to continue to utilize the services of URS Corporation for on -call services for
various projects in an additional amount not to exceed $25,000. Cumulatively, the original
contract and this proposed increase exceeds the Town Manager Authority.
