RESOLUTION NO, 1978 -48
RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF LOS GATOS APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR THE RECREATION BUILDING ADDITION & ALTERATIONS
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos to construct an addition and to remodel the Recreation Building
on E. Main Street in the Town of Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has presented Plans and Specifications
for the construction of said building;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that these Plans and Specifications,
entitled "Recreation Building Addition & Alterations for the Town of
Los Gatos" dated February 16, 1.978, on file in the Office of the Town
Clerk, are hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise, as required by law, for the receipt of sealed
bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid
Plans and Specifications, which said advertisement shall be substantially
in accordance with the Notice to Bidders, attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED AT A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS this 7th day of April , 1978, by the following vote:

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will he received by the Clerk of the
Town of Los Gatos, of the County of Santa Clara, State of California, in the
office of the Clerk, 110 E. Main Street, Los Gatos, California 95050, up to
1.0:00 a.m. May 21, 1978, for Construction of the Recreation Building
Additions g Alterations at 123 East Main Street, in the Town of Los Gatos,
County of Santa Clara, State of California, in accordance with Plans and
specifications on file for the work in the Office of the Clerk of the Town
OF Los Gatos.
The bids will be opened by the Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos at the time and
glace above stated, and a report of the names of all bidders and the amount of
each bid will be made by the Clerk to the Town Council at the next regular or
special meeting of the Town Council following the date of opening of bids.
Work shall be clone in strict accordance with Drawings and Specifications pre-
pared by the Architectural Office of William W. Hedl.ey, Jr., 316 East Campbell
Acanue, Campbell, California 95008.
a'REQUALFICATION REQUIRED. Attention is directed to Section 3 -18 of the Speci-
'ications, which requires bidders to submit, at least seven days prior to the
date of the bid opening, a satisfactory Equal. Employment Opportunity program.
Bids will not be accepted from bidders failing to prequaiify, as required in
said Section 3 -18.
Workmen employed in the work must be paid at rates at least equal to the prevail-
ing wage scale as determined by State Director of Department of Industrial Rela-
tions and on file in the Office of the Town Clerk.
Each Bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check or a bidder's
bond in the sum of not less than ten per cent (100) of the total aggregate of the
bid, and the checks or bonds shall be made payable to the order of the Town of
Los Gatos.
All bids must be addressed to the Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos, and shall bear
the title or name of the work to be constructed.
The 'Town of Los Gatos reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive
any errors or discrepancies.
Fhe time limit for the completion of all work shall be one hundred eighty(180)
calendar days. Liquidated damages shall be assessed in the amount of One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00) for each working day the work remains incomplete beyond the
Lime fixed above for completion.
