1978-046-Urging The Naming Of Lasuen FreewayRESOLUTION N0, 1978 -46 A RESOLUTION URGING THE NAMING OF LASUEN FREEWAY WHEREAS, the land route between the City of Santa Cruz and the City of San Jose, now traversed by Highway 17 has been one of economic importance and colorful historic associations since Father Fermin Francisco de Lasuen, the second President of the Alta California Franciscan Missions and the first European to open, travel over and order improved,the road from Mission Santa Cruz to Mission Santa Clara on August 28,1791° WHEREAS, the route traversed: has never had _a general Iy accepted name, and WHEREAS, the route has historical significance in the vicinity; RESOLVED, California State Senator Jerry Smith is urged to introduce Legislation naming Highway 17 from the City of Santa Cruz to 101 Freeway in the City of San Jose " Lasuen Freeway" PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 17th day of April, 1978 by the following vote: AYES: Council Members: Ruth Cannon, Thomas J.
