RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS REVISING
BID DATE FOR THE DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER BUILDING
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos to construct a neighborhood center building at East Main
Street and Fiesta Way in the Town of Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council, at its meeting of February 21, 1978, by
Resolution No. 1978 -19, approved the Plans and Specifications for con-
struction of said building and directed the Town Clerk to advertise for
sealed bids to be received on March 15, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to revise the date for receipt
of bids to May 17, 1978;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Addendum No. 2 to the contract
documents attached hereto and made a part hereof is hereby approved and
the Director of Public Works is directed to transmit a copy thereof to
all planholders for the project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise, as required by law, for the receipt of sealed bids
or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid Plans and
Specifications, which said advertisement shall be substantially in accordance
with the Revised Notice to Bidders, attached hereto and made a part hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED AT A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS this 6th day of March , 1978, by the following
vote:

Notice is hereby given that the following clarifications, revisions,
additions and deletions to the Contract Documents for the above project
shall be made a part of those Contract Documents and shall comply with
all applicable provisions thereof:
A. NEW BID DATE. The first paragraph of the "Notice to Bidders" is
revised to read as follows:
"Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by
the Clerk of the 'town of Los Gatos, of the County of Santa
Clara, State of California, in the Office of the Clerk, 110
E. Main Street, Los Gatos, California 95030, up to 10:00 a.m.
May 17, 1978, for construction of the Los Gatos Downtown
Neighborhood Center at East Main Street and Fiesta Way in the
Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California,
in accordance with Plans and Specifications on file for the work
in the Office of the Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos."
B. NEW PRE -BID CONFERENCE DATE. The third item of "Notices" concerning
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION REQUIREMENT is revised to read as follows:
"There will be a pre-bid conference for all planholders where the
specifics of the unique affirmative action requirements will be
covered. ATTENDANCE IS STRONGLY URGED.
On May 5, 1978, at 10:00 a.m., Department of Public Works, Town
of Los Gatos Civic Center."

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Clerk of the
Town of Los Gatos, of the County of Santa Clara, State of California, in the
Office of the Clerk, 110 E. Main Street, Los Gatos, California 95030, up to
10:00 a.m. Mav 17, 1978 for Construction of the Los Gatos Downtown
Neighborhood Center, at Gast Main Street and Fiesta Way in the Town of Los
Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California, in accordance with Plans
and Specifications on file for the work in the Office of the Clerk of the
Town of Los Gatos.
Ile bids will be opened by the Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos at the time and
place above stated, and a report of the names of all bidders and the amount of
each bid will be made by the Clerk to the Town Council at the next regular or
special meeting of the Town Council following the date of opening of bids.
Work shall be done in strict accordance with Drawings and Specifications pre-
pared by the Architectural Office of William W. Medley, Jr., 346 East Campbell
Avenue, Campbell, California 95008.
PRLQALFICATION REQUIRED. Attention is directed to Section 3-18 of the Speci_-
i'.catiars, which requires bidders to submit, at least seven days prior to the
date of the bid opening, a satisfactory Equal Employment Opportunity Program.
Bids will not be accepted from bidders failing to prequalify, as required in
said Section 3 -18.
Workmen employed in the work must be paid at rates at least equal to the prevail-
ing wage scale as determined by State Director of Department of Industrial Rela-
tions and on file in the Office of the Town Clerk.
Each Bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check or a bidde;r'�
bond in the sum of not less than ten per cent (10 %) of the total aggregate of Lhc
bid, and the checks or bonds shall be made payable to the order of the Town of
Los Gatos.
All bids must be addressed to the Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos, and shall bear
the title or name of the work to be constructed.
The Town of Los Gatos reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive
any errors or discrepancies.
The time limit for the completion of all work shall be two hundred thirteen (213)
calendar days. Liquidated damages shall be assessed in the amount of One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00) for each working day the work remains incomplete beyond the
time fixed above for completion.
Plans and Specifications may be secured from the Department of Public Works,
I10 E. Main Street, Los Gatos, California 95030, upon the payment of Fifty Dollars
($50.00) per set, REFUNDABLE.
