TOWN OF LOS GATOS
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
CONCERNING AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Government Code Section 65353, the Town
Council conducted a public hearing for consideration of amendments to the Los Gatos
General Plan on August 17, 1987 and September 21, 1987.
WHEREAS, during these hearings the Town Council considered all of the items
shown in Resolution Nos. 87 -6 and 87 -7 of the Planning Commission.
WHEREAS, the amendments included in this Resolution shall be considered General
Plan Amendment No. 3 for 1987.
RESOLVED: The Town Council finds that General Plan Amendment GP -87 -4 and
GP -87 -7 will not have a significant impact on the environment and makes the Negative
Declaration.
FURTHER RESOLVED: The Town Council finds that Los Gatos General Plan
Amendments GP -87 -4 and GP -87 -7 (a) are internally consistent with the Town of Los
Gatos General Plan, and (b) that all proceedings have been conducted in compliance
with the provisions of Government Code Section 65350 et seq.
FURTHER RESOLVED: The Town Council hereby amends the General Plan Land Use
Plan for the properties located on the south side of Blossom Hill Road at Roberts
Road as shown on Exhibit A.
FURTHER RESOLVED: The Town Council hereby amends Section 3.6.1.d of the Los
Gatos General Plan Housing Element to read as follows:
d. Al new residential developments including detached single family
dwellings shall be designed to include the following features:
1. Wheelchair reachable light switches, thermostat controls and
electrical outlets.
2. Door handles rather than knobs.
3. Wooden backing in bathroom walls to allow structural strength for
addition of grab bars by the occupants.
4. Faucets and shower controls operable with one hand requiring a
minimal amount of grasping with the exception of those used on vanity
faucets.
5. All doors at least 32 inches wide.
6. Two outside door thresholds no higher than 1/2 inch above landings.
Landings to be at least 5 feet by 5 feet.
In addition, 50% of newly developed condominiums shall be handicapped
accessible and meet the adaptability and accessibility regulations applicable
to apartments in Title 24 of the Calif. Administrative Code with the exception
that these developments will not require (a) the kitchen sink and a portion of
the counter top to be lowerable and the cabinet fronts removable so as to allow
wheelchair access underneath; and (b) bathroom lavatory need not have 28"
clearance underneath for wheelchair access. All newly developed apartments
shall be accessible and adaptable pursuant to Title 24 of the Calif.
Administrative Code.
