MINUTES OF THE TOWN COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
DECEMBER 9, 2013
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Special Meeting on Monday,
December 9, 2013, at 5:45 P.M.
TOWN COUNCIL
BUSINESS MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Steven Leonardis, Vice Mayor Marcia Jensen, Council Member Joe
Pirzynski, Council Member Diane McNutt, Council Member Barbara Spector.
Absent: None
CONSENT ITEMS (TO BE ACTED UPON BY A SINGLE MOTION)
1. Compensation and benefits updates for unrepresented employees and conditional
authority to proceed with a labor agreement with The Town Employees'
Association
MOTION: Motion by Vice Mayor Marcia Jensen to approve Consent
Items #1 as recommended by Staff. Seconded by Council
Member Diane McNutt.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
There were no Verbal Communications for this meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Business meeting adjourned at 5:47 p.m.
Meeting called to order at 5:55 p.m. for board, commission, and committee interviews.
Appointments to be made at the December 16, 2013, Council meeting.
BOARDS /COMMISSION /COMMITTEES INTERVIEWS
2. Interview applicants for the vacant positions on Town Boards, Commissions, and
Committees
- Arts and Culture Commission (5 vacancies, 4 applicants). Incumbent Dennise
Carter did not appear.
- Community and Senior Services Commission (4 vacancies, 4 applicants)
- Library Board (1 vacancy, 2 applicants). Incumbent Thomas Atkinson did not
appear.
Parks Commission (3 vacancies, 3 applicants)
Personnel Board (2 vacancies, 2 applicants)
Planning Commission (2 vacancies, 7 applicants)
Transportation and Parking Commission (4 vacancies, 4 applicants). Applicant
Garrett Kolb did not appear.
Council directed staff to find out the reasons that several incumbents did not appear for
the interviews.
It was the consensus of the Council that the non - appearing incumbents would be
considered for appointment and that the other non - appearing applicant not be
considered at this time, but be invited to reapply in the future.
