RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR FIREARMS DEALER PERMIT IN ACCORDANCE
WITH ORDINANCE NO. 2217 AND ADDING THE FEE TO THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS COMPREHENSIVE FEE SCHEDULE FOR FY 2013/14
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos financial policies require that the Town
establish and maintain all user charges and fees based on the cost of providing services; and
WHEREAS, on August 5, 2013 the Town of Los Gatos adopted Ordinance 2217
adding a new Section XIII to Chapter 14 of the Los Gatos Town Code entitled "Firearms Dealers
Sale of Firearms and Ammunition." The new ordinance requires a regulatory permit for the sale
of firearms and ammunition; and
WHEREAS, the ordinance requires that a fee be established to process the
regulatory permit that covers the cost for issuing the permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
1. That the fee of $4,000 be established for processing the regulatory firearms dealer permit;
and
2. The new fee shall be added to the Town of Los Gatos Comprehensive Fee Schedule
effective on the date of this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council held on the
16th day of September 2013 by the following vote:
