MINUTES OF THE TOWN COUNCIL/PARKING AUTHORITY/REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY MEETING
DECEMBER 10, 2012
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Special Meeting on Monday,
December 10, 2012 at 6:00 P.M.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER - 6:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Barbara Spector, Vice Mayor Steven Leonardis, Council Member
Diane McNutt, Council Member Joe Pirzynski and Council Member Steve Rice
Absent: None
CLOSED SESSION REPORT
Judith Propp, Town Attorney reported that Council met in closed session and that no
action was taken.
CONSENT
1. Adopt resolution certifying the November 6, 2012 Los Gatos General
Municipal Election and declaring the election results.
RESOLUTION 2012-067
MOTION: Motion by Council Member Diane McNutt to approve the Certification of
Election results. Seconded by Council Member Joe Pirzynski
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously.
SWEARING IN OF NEW COUNCIL
Honorable Judge Jensen led the swearing in ceremony for Council Member Marcia
Jensen and Mayor Barbara Spector.
Mayor Spector thanked Former Council Member Steve Rice for his work and dedication
to the Town during his term serving on the Town Council. Mr. Rice thanked the
community and stated that it was an honor to serve on the Town Council.

McNutt, Council Member Joe Pirzynski and Council Member Marcia Jensen
Absent: None
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS (Up to three minutes may be allotted to each
speaker to address matters that are not on tonight’s agenda.)
Ms. Weinstein
Expressed concern about a new establishment opening in Town that will be
selling firearms.
Requested that Council adopt a policy to notify the community when shops like
these apply to open in Town.
Suggested that a policy include requiring a Conditional Use Permit for
establishments which sell firearms and that the policy include that the
establishment not advertise guns outside the location.
Suggested that if the establishment applies to expand or remodel, that a
Conditional Use Permit be added to the application at that time.
Council Member Marcia Jensen
Thanked the community for supporting her and that she is proud to work with the
community and with the Town.
Mayor Spector
Requested a recess at 6:15 p.m. and commented that the Council would return
to convene off camera to conduct Board, Commission, and Committee
interviews.
Commented that the appointments to the Community and Senior Services
Commission and to the Library Board would be postponed to hold interviews for
two applicants that were unable to attend tonight’s interview process.
Interviews for the two applicants would be scheduled for either the Town Council
meeting of December 17, 2012 or January 22, 2013 pending their availability.

o Council postponed the appointment to allow an interview for the applicant
who was unable to attend tonight’s interview process.

o Council postponed the appointment to allow an interview for the applicant

o Council appointed Phillip Nielsen
Planning Commission
o Council appointed Kendra Burch
Council directed the Clerk Administrator to re-advertise any vacant positions following
the pending interview and appointment process.
OTHER BUSINESS
There was no other business for this meeting.
