8�pW N 0 DATE: COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT OCTOBER 29, 2012 MEETING DATE: 11/19/12 ITEM 110: TO: MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL FROM: GREG LARSON, TOWN MANAGER SUBJECT: PPW JOB NO 11 -17 — FY 2011/12 CURB, GUTTER AND SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT 411- 813 -9921 AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE AND NOTICE OF COMPLETION ACCEPTING THE WORK OF BEARDEN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. DBA CB CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION, INC. AND AUTHORIZE RECORDING BY THE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Town Manager to execute a Certificate of Acceptance and Notice of Completion accepting the work of Bearden Construction Company Inc., dba: CB Concrete Construction Inc. and authorize recording by the Clerk Administrator. BACKGROUND: The adopted 2011/12 - 2015/16 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) designates funding for curb, gutter, and sidewalk replacement projects and is consistent with the Town's goals to improve public safety and to improve the quality of Town streets. This project was designed to repair and replace damaged curbs, gutters and sidewalks throughout the T-o--wn:-- -I - -n- conjunction with the replacement of hazardous and damaged concrete, tree roots were to be pruned and root barriers placed to minimize further damage to new curbs, gutters and sidewalks. DISCUSSION: On May 7, 2012, the Town Council awarded the contract to Bearden Construction Company Inc. dba: CB Concrete Construction Inc. The contracted work has been satisfactorily completed by Bearden Construction Company Inc. dba: CB Concrete Construction Inc. and is being recommended for acceptance by the Parks and Public Works Department. The execution and recordation of the Certificate of Acceptance is now required to finalize the Town's acceptance of the project. CONCLUSION: Staff recommends that the Town Council authorize the Town Manager to execute a Certificate of Acceptance and Notice of Completion accepting the work of Bearden Construction Company Inc. dba: CB Concrete Construction Inc. and authorize recording by the Clerk Administrator. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT: This is a project as defined under CEQA but is Categorically Exempt (Section 15301c). A Notice of Exemption will not be filed. FISCAL IMPACT: This project was completed within the Council approved budget, as demonstrated by the fiscal table below. TOTALS __ $ _....
