RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
COMMENDING THE SAN JOSE SILICON VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
AND CEO STEVE TEDESCO
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos acknowledges the importance of a strong
business community to maintain the economic vitality of the community, and to serve the needs
of residents for goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the businesses serving the Town of Los Gatos community need an
organization to provide support and advocacy, and to present a strong unified voice representing
the interests of the business community; and
WHEREAS, such an organization must also listen to all segments of the Los Gatos
community and be willing to act as a catalyst for dialogue and problem - solving; and
WHEREAS, the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce recognized the need
for an organization for the business community in the Town of Los Gatos and donated significant
time, talent, and financial support to the formation of the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, it was the visionary leadership of Steve Tedesco, Chief Executive
Officer of the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, and his commitment to regional
cooperation that launched the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce is now firmly established
as a strong and viable organization and is making a significant contribution to the Town of Los
Gatos that is valued and appreciated by the business community, the residents, and the Town
Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos does hereby
render, with special appreciation, commendation to the SAN JOSE SILICON VALLEY
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE and STEVE TEDESCO for their leadership and investment in
establishing the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 7th day of June, 1999 by the following vote:
