RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
APPROVING A SECOND RESTATED
AND AMENDED JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT CREATING
THE SILICON VALLEY ANIMAL CONTROL AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, On August 7, 2000, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
entered into a Joint Powers Agreement with the Cities of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara,
Cupertino, Saratoga, Campbell and Monte Sereno for the purposes of providing animal
control services to those communities; and,
WHEREAS, the SVACA Board of Directors met on June 23rd and July 281"
2003, and approved the second restated and amended Joint Powers Agreement
regarding the withdrawal of the City of Sunnyvale and several critical policy and
language changes to the JPA, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California, to approve the second restated
and amended Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement creating the Silicon Valley Animal
Control Authority and to authorize the Town Manager to execute said amendment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 2 of September, 2003 by the following
vote:
COUNCIL MEMBERS:
AYES: Steve Glickman, Diane McNutt, Joe Pirzynski, Mike Wasserman,
Mayor Sandy Decker.
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

well, since the City of Cupertino did not vote for it, the JPA reverts back to the old JPA document. The
action the Council took is moot at this point until another amended JPA document is revised and sent
back to all the member cities. I don't have a date for that yet.
