RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE UPDATED EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos to make all
possible preparations in the event of a natural or man -made disaster in order to minimize the loss of
life and property in the Town of Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, the Town adopted Chapter 8 of the Town of Los Gatos Municipal Code in
1968, establishing a Disaster Council and empowered said council to develop and recommend
the adoption by the Town Council those Emergency Mutual Aid Plans and Agreements
necessary to handle an emergency or disaster; and
WHEREAS, the Town amended its Emergency Operations Plan to integrate the
Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management
System (NIMS); and
WHEREAS, the current Emergency Operations Plan; adopted in 1999, is in need of
revision in order to achieve the total integration as required under the SEMS/NIMS concept and as
directed by State of California Executive Order 2;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos,
County of Santa Clara, State of California, as follows: that the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos does hereby approve and adopt the revised Emergency Operations Plan and authorize the
Mayor to sign the Letter of Promulgation, accepting the document.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council held on the 20th of
April, 2009, by the following vote:
