SCHEDULE TO CONTINUE AND ADJUST CERTAIN DEPARTMENT FEES,
RATES, AND CHARGES
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt resolution approving an amendment to certain development fees for FY 2012/13
(Attachment 1).
BACKGROUND
The subject report was distributed to the Town Council with the June 4, 2012, Town Council
agenda and meeting materials. At that time, staff was recommending continuing the public
hearing for approving an amendment to certain fees for FY 2012/13 to the meeting of June 18,
2012, to allow an adequate notice period to the Building Industry Association (BIA) regarding
the proposed fee changes.
As part of the Operating and Capital Budgets report that Council considered on May 21, 2012,
this budget report summarized recommended fee modifications, which included an increase of
30% for Architecture and Site applications for new non - residential and multiple family
developments for non - Planned Development projects. Although this recommended fee increase
was included in Exhibit A of Attachment 1 and Attachment 2 of the June 4, 2012, report, it was
not referenced in the report. These applications require a significant amount of staff processing
that is supported by the 2010 fee study which notes that the Town would need to increase its
Architecture and Site fees for non - residential developments by 179% and 86% for multiple
family developments.
Staff has not received any written or verbal comments on this item, and there are no additional
materials distributed for this report. Please refer to the materials distributed for the June 4, 2012,
Town Council meeting.

REMARKS
On page 6 of the staff report for the meeting of June 4, 2012, regarding recommended future fee
and streamlining changes, the second bullet referencing changes to time extension applications
should be corrected to state that the fee would be reduced by approximately $1,679 $1,123 to
$8,196 $3, 323.
