Tract No. 9969 Highlands of Los GatosOWN aF c o s COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT MEETING DATE: 4/16/12 ITEM NO: 15 DATE: APRIL 4, 2012 TO: MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL FROM: GREG LARSON, TOWN MANAGER SUBJECT: TRACT NO. 9969 HIGHLANDS OF LOS GATOS ADOPT RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST TO RENAME TRACT NO. 9969 HIGHLANDS DRIVE AND HIGHLANDS COURT TO SANTELLA DRIVE AND SANTELLA COURT. RECOMMENDATION Adopt resolution approving the request to rename Tract No. 9969 Highlands Drive and Highlands Court to Santella Drive and Santella Court. BACKGROUND On December 19, 2005 the Town Council approved Planned Development (PD) application PD- 04-3. Council adopted PD Ordinance 2147 on Januaryl7, 2006 allowing 19 single family lots, approximately 42 acres of public open space, and new public trails. The Town Development Review Committee approved the tentative map on July 11, 2006. The Final Map for Tract 9969 was approved by the Town on May 21, 2008 and was recorded on August 12, 2008. The street names Highlands Drive and Highlands Court were approved and recorded with the final map. The Highlands Drive and Highlands Court names were found to be too similar to existing street names including Highland Avenue, Highland Oaks Drive and Highland Oaks Way. In order to properly provide addresses to direct and accommodate emergency and postal services, the nines Santella Drive and Santella Court have been suggested by the developer. Staff is in agreement with these selection from the Town's established Council Resolution No. 1982 -175. Under California Government Code Section 34091.1, the Town Council can amend the street names on a recorded map and adopt a resolution designating a name change.
