STANDARDS
(1) Each application for permit for parking lot improvements shall be
reviewed and determined in accordance with the requirements for handicapped
accessibility as set forth in Title 24 of the California Administrative Code.
The Planning Commission may approve a permit for parking lot improvements which
reduces the number of parking spaces required pursuant to Chapter 3.41 of this
Ordinance and /or which converts previously existing standard sized spaces to
compact spaces in excess of what would otherwise be permitted. This approval
must be based upon a finding that public necessity for handicapped accessible
parking spaces outweighs the need for the number of parking spaces required by
Chapter 3.41.
(2) When an existing parking lot is being improved, and parking spaces
are deleted in order to provide required handicapped spaces, a number of the
existing standard spaces equal to the number of standard spaces deleted may be
reduced in size to compact spaces. This reduction may take place regardless of
the number of existing spaces in the lot.
SECTION IV
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted. Within
15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to be
published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated
